About Best Hikes USA

Hey there! We're a husband-and-wife team based in the Hudson Valley, New York, who just really love hiking. We're not ultramarathoners or peak-bagging record chasers - we're regular people who spend our weekends on the trail, packing too many snacks and stopping way too often for photos. Best Hikes USA is where we share the trails we've actually hiked and honestly enjoyed.

Why We Started This

We got tired of reading generic trail descriptions that all sounded the same. You know the kind - the ones that tell you a trail has "breathtaking vistas" and "diverse terrain" but don't mention that the parking lot fills up by 8am or that the last mile is basically a rock scramble. We wanted to build something different: a site where the reviews come from real hikes, with the kind of details that actually help you plan your day.

Starting Local, Growing Nationwide

Since we live in the Hudson Valley, that's where our trail collection started - the Catskills, the Hudson Highlands, the Shawangunks, and all the amazing hiking this area has to offer. It's our backyard and we know these trails inside and out. But we're not stopping here. As we travel and explore new areas, we'll keep adding trails from across the country. The goal is to eventually cover the best hikes in every state, one honest review at a time.
